Life on the Line

Cristian Barnett is a celebrated commercial photographer specialising in food photography. Cristian approached TPF Studio to frame 50 images for an exhibition to support the launch of his book Life on the Line, a collection of unique portraits taken over eight years and thirteen trips to the Arctic, connecting and celebrating life along the Arctic Circle; part of the exhibition has also been displayed at Darwin College, Cambridge.

Cristian wanted simplicity and uniformity so that the frames did not detract from the images, which were all printed at the same size and aspect ratio. We achieved this with a clean white mount and frame, reflecting both the context of the images and the gallery setting.

Working with Kevin and his team was great. He has an artist’s eye and understood the context of the work and the setting immediately. There’s no room for error with white frames and mounts - they show every detail - but each one was impeccable, enabling the prints to do the talking. It was a big job, but Kevin turned it around in plenty of time to get them to the gallery and hung. They were carefully packaged to arrive undamaged. The whole process went smoothly with Kevin communicating regularly throughout. Outstanding quality and value for money.
